Celebrating the centennial of the Notre Dame Victory March, the University of Notre Dame Band has assembled this classic collection featuring the “Greatest of all Fight Songs.” On this CD you will hear the traditional version performed by the Band of the Fighting Irish at every home football game, as well as the rendition played by the Concert Band to conclude every program of Notre Dame Band music on campus and in tours around the world. The CD includes the original version composed in 1908 by Notre Dame graduates Father Michael Shea and his brother John, performed on the organ much as Father Michael first played the new song. Historic recordings are played by Notre Dame Bands directed by Joseph Casasanta, Lee Hope, Robert O’Brien, Luther Snavely, and Ken Dye, as well as by the Notre Dame Alumni Band.
